- A quick fix that usually works is to disconnect your Internet so that DM cannot communicate with online for updates. This will force DM to look for the update on your PC.
- If the above fix does not work, then you need to launch App Loader by itself. You will need to close DM completely because sometimes it will stay running in background and will prevent App Loader from detecting the update as well. You can find App Loader in the same location the vendor.xml file is found.
Also, make sure (especially on laptops or netbooks!) that USB power save is turned off! This can NUKE your blackberry!

Complete the appropriate steps to resolve this issue:
For Windows XP
- On the Desktop, right-click My Computer and select Properties.
- Click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
- Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click the USB Root Hub and select Properties.
- Click the Power Management tab, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each USB Root Hub listed in the Device Manager.
For Windows Vistaâ„¢
- Click Start, and type device manager in the Start Search box.
- Click Device Manager in the Programs list.
- If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
- In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click USB Root Hub, and then click Properties.
- In the USB Root Hub Properties dialog box, click the Power Management tab.
- Clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 for each USB Root Hub listed in the Device Manager
