“Safe” mode or limited mode

Just like windows, modern Blackberry comes with this feature “safe mode”Note: It is only available from OS 4.6 onwards

What is safe mode?

Safe mode can be used to prevent third-party applications from running automatically. It is designed to allow troubleshooting or to remove any unwanted applications.

So how do we do it?

  1. Remove and reinsert the device battery (just like a hard reset).
  2. When the red LED light (on the right top corner) goes out, press and hold the Escape key as the device begins to load.
  3. Select OK when the popup appears

Safe mode is indicated by a safe mode indicator in the device status section of the Home screen.

To turn off safe mode, remove and reinsert the device battery (Hard reset).
